Smells like disappointment

Monday, October 16th, 2006

Well, I found out today that due to the movie’s schedule, we will not be having an opening party this weekend. And apparently the first day of shooting is all boring outside stuff. So Bernie and I decided to forgo the Rhode Island trip this weekend. And since I ended all relations with peebag, I have also decided to forgo taking Monday and Tuesdsay off as personal days. That’s a lot of forgo for one day people! It in fact, turns this weekend into a completely ordinary weekend!

But wait….it’s a weekend in New York, so now I just have to look back at all the events that I had passed on since I was going out of town. OH YEAH. I forgot all about HELL HOUSE! I WILL SEE HELL HOUSE AND REVEL IN ITS EVIL!!!!!

Plus, I will still get to go to the movie…they want us to come up when they do the big wedding scene…they are going to have a mini party then. guess when that is?
November 10. MY BIRTHDAY PEOPLE!!!!!

That’s almost like a gold-lining! And who knows? By then I may have found a suitable candidate for a househusband!

okay….so I’ve had a few?! What’s the big deal?? right? I had a great night/day/week. So I blew off a steam at Little Branch, my favorite speakeasy/lounge/bar. The bartenders there actually tell you what you are allowed to order.
Little Branch

LOVE IT

The submissive in me (what?) loves to be told by a Scottish cocktail server that I’m not allowed to order a cocktail made with vodka. That is so HOT. Luckily, I would never order a vodka cocktail as I don’t drink hard liquor when out and about.

Okay-I haven’t, since December. But the Little Branch has changed that, at least for two nights. Bourbon doesn’t count right? RIGHT?? RIGHT????????

more to come.

DROPPING NAMES? IT’S A LIFESTYLE

We got a new project to work on, and I have to say I’ve learned a thing or two. I’ve worked on a few movies now, some indies and some studio films, and nothing is better than when you have a big name director on the project. It’s like doors open wide for you while you hear the dulcet tones of your favorite song as you walk by in your Blahniks.
I know, we should all be striving to represent, to secure the hippest, offbeat NY cast for the director who won all those awards with his short film. I love that too. But having agents laugh in your face all day, or having to sell sell sell! can be a bit exhausting.
Its so cool when you love the script you are working on, love the director who is doing it and everyone seems to be as excited as you are!

Roscoe and Lola

Monday, October 9th, 2006

I don’t know if anyone knows this, but I am a proud dog owner (I just took five minutes deciding whether to write dog owner or parent…) of two adorable dachshunds: Roscoe and Lola. They look similar, though Roscoe is larger and has shorter ears that little Lola. They are yin and yang in personality. Lola loves everyone she meets, wants to be held and snuggled constantly and never barks. Roscoe, a sensitive soul, takes a few minutes to warm up to strangers. He has a psychological need to bark at larger dogs (I like to think that he is protecting Lola in his mind) and often sits on the couch with a martyrlike expression on his face.

oh, eliot, somerset and I need you…please come home

I succumbed this weekend. I expect it was because I knew it was a three day weekend, so I would have plenty of time to accomplish what I needed to do. Maybe since I traveled last weekend, and was exhausted and weaker than normal. All I know is that I fell into an addiction that has been creeping up on me….slowly taking over my life.
Weekend started off good…cleaned the house Saturday, long walk with the dogs, very short, economical nap. Got dressed up and went to a neighborhood party. Had fun.
Sunday, I woke up and two of my friends had crashed out on the couch and we went to brunch, one of my all time favorite things to do. After I went home, things took a turn for the worse. My puppies, Roscoe and Lola, looked especially snuggly and I decided to turn on the TV and watch a little with them on the couch. I pressed LIST on the DVR machine and that is when temptation struck. Without even a scrolldown, I could see seven Law and Order SVU episodes. There was clearly some sort of marathon!!!!!! I clicked on each, to see the description. I had not seen any of them before!!!!
I looked at Roscoe and Lola, who were snuggling amongst my legs. They seemed to understand that we were in for the long haul. Nothing other than ice cream was going to get me off that couch until my need for Eliot Stabler and Olivia Benson was sated. 12 hours later, I unstuck my legs from the apholstry of the couch, tried to revive my joints that were stiff with atrophy and went to bed. You see, i could no longer keep my eyes open.
I have a problem. Help. Me.
